You need to have prevention at three levels. First is that, the disease should not be transmitted from the source. Secondly the you need to control the disease at the transmission level. Here you have to use the barriers like mask, supply of safe water, not sharing the drinking utensils and control of the vectors etc. Thirdly you have to protect the recipient by vaccination, by passive immunity, by personal hygiene and protection from the vectors.

Bacterial diseases: Immunisation. Complete full course of antibiotics to make sure bacteria are completely killed. Good sanitation and hygiene. A strong immune system
