If you were accused of a crime(a more severe one), you would be thrown in the water and if you sunk you were not guilty for the water "accepted" you and they would pull you out of the water and free you. If you floated you were guilty because the water "rejected" you. Isn't it crazy!

The connection was not established as science until the time of Pasteur, in the nineteenth century. Most medieval people thought it was bad air or some sort of curse.
Strange question. Medieval people were Europeans who lived during the Middle Ages (roughly 1100 - 1450). I suppose they woke up when they had to go to work, when they heard a loud noise, or when someone else woke them up. Same as today.
People used different materials during different time eras. In the medieval times, people used cotton, silk and burlap as a clothing source.
