This usually means you have picked up some kind of program that is trying to put ad pop ups on your computer. You should run an anti virus program and that should remove it.
An embedded pop is a pop up ad. These ads can be blocked by going to ad/remove programs in the control panel and check for any unknown program. If this does not work, you can block the program from appearing at start up by going to start/run and typing mscongfig and select the start up tab in the list of programs. Uncheck any entry that you do not want.
You will need to uninstall the apps related to the content to get rid of the ads. You should also opt out of any ad and install a good antivirus and malware program.

Phil, I recently had an experience with a similar virus. What I used to finally get rid of it, after trying alot of things, was a combination of a free anti-virus program called "AVG" and another free scanning program called "Ad-Aware". Download the programs to your computer. Then run them in safe mode if posible. Remove anything that they find wrong. If that doesn't fix your problem, E-mail me and I will give you some more indepth settings for the ad-aware program. Good luck! -Alan
