A liquid that will dissolve plastic . Lacquer thinner, Methylethyl Ketone, Xylene, etc.
There will be solvent for the plastic. -Find out WHAT plastic, then get the solvent. -A 'plastics' store or plumbing store is your best bet.
- Sand does not dissolve in water- Plastic does not dissolve in water- metals do not dissolve in water
acetone Type your answer here... acetone
MEK is a fast evaporating solvent that is used often in the paint industry and in plastic welding industry. Prolonged and unprotected exposure is harmful to humans as it can burn lungs and be absorbed in the skin.
They use a tool that looks like a hot air gun. It heats the plastic to the correct temperature and melts the filler material at the same time. Remember, welding is melting and fusing material whether it is metal, plastic, or glass. Sometimes they do what is called chemical welding. Then they coat the two pieces to be welded with a solvent that dissolves the outer layers. They mate the two pieces until the solvent evaporates. After the solvent is gone, the two pieces have merged along their edges and are "welded" together.

According to DAP's MSDS sheet on the product, the solvent is polyvinyl acetate.
First identify the 'plastic' then find it's solvent.

Depends on the type of plastic since WD40 has solvent in it. I wouldn't use it on soft vinyl.
ALL plastics have their own particular glue or solvent - USE it rather than any other.

Of courseANS 2 - Better to epoxy it as the gas may act as a solvent on the super glue.
It has low thermal resistance, Poor solvent resistance, Prone to hydrolytic degradation if not completely dry prior to processing.
Try it on a small, hidden area, but it should be fine. Nail polish is a kind of paint called nitrocellulose lacquer; if the solvent (acetone) won't dissolve the plastic, go for it.
