There are various types of pollution such as: air pollution - releases chemicals into the atmosphere; water pollution - waste water (sewage and chlorine) reaches the earth's surfaces which causes littering; noise pollution - which verifies aircraft noise, roadway noise and industrial noise; light pollution - increases over-illumination; and littering - the criminal activity of disposing man-made objects onto private property.

These are some of the kinds of water pollution:

  • Human wastes- human wastes bear disease- carrying germs, harmful bacteria & other grime substances that are detrimental not only to human health but also to other organisms.
  • Washing water-contains dirt from the washed clothes, germs, soap, detergent or other cleaners which enclose phosphorus that prop up the rapid growth of algae.
  • Storm water-whenever there is a heavy rain, it washes the dust & dirt off from house roofs and streets, and it will cause pollution in the water. In addition, the water brought about by the heavy rain can wash away lead paint from buildings, houses, establishments & etc., which is also one of the contributors of water pollution, seeing that lead paint contains lead which we all know a very harmful substance for our health.
  • Sediments-when erosion occurs on the land, whether agriculture, construction , forestry, or mining, the fine particles of the soil become a benefactor to water pollution.
  • Industrial wastes- these are wastes from industrialized plants and companies that includes precarious chemicals which are hazardous to our health.
  • Oil pollution- oil penetrates and opens up the structure and plumage of birds, reducing its insulating ability, and so making the birds more vulnerable to temperature fluctuations and much less buoyant in the water. It also impairs birds' flight abilities, making it difficult or impossible to forage and escape from predators. Marine organisms exposed to oil spills are affected in similar ways as seabirds. Ingestion of oil causes dehydration and impaired digestion.
  • Agricultural run-off- is a surface water leaving farm fields because of excessive precipitation, irrigation or snow melt.(for countries who have four seasons) Agricultural run-off lug on fertilizers, pesticides and many other chemicals for plant produce ,which we know contains destructive substances that may harm our health and sponsor to the continuous pollution in the water.
  • Plastics-is the general term for a wide range of synthetic, semi-synthetic organic solid materials suitable for the manufacture of industrialized products. Due to their insolubility in water and relative chemical inertness, pure plastics generally have low toxicity in their finished state, and will pass through the digestive system with no ill effect (other than mechanical damage or obstruction).Plastics are durable and degrade very slowly. In some cases, burning plastic can release toxic fumes. Also, the manufacturing of plastics often creates large quantities of chemical pollutants.Plastic that has broken down into micro-particles is now being ingested by tiny marine organisms and is moving up the marine food chain.Sea creatures that are killed by plastic readily decompose. The plastic does not-it remains in the ecosystem to kill again and again.
