Reaction product of reacting acid with alcohol to give an ester this is called polyester, saturated polyester is reaction product of saturated acid " may be aromatic dibasic acids like phthalic anhydride, isophthalic acid, terephthalic acid,etc.... or aliphatic aicds like adipic, sebacicl,....etc." with alcohol like " glycerol, pentaerythritol, trimethylol propane, neopentyl glycol, etc......." .

"Polyester Material" generally refers to plastic materials made of polyesters. The term "polyester" as a specific material most commonly refers to polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Polyesters include naturally occurring chemicals, such as in the cutin of plant cuticles, as well as synthetics through step-growth polymerization such as polycarbonate and polybutyrate.

Natural polyesters and a few synthetic ones are biodegradable, but most synthetic polyesters are not.
