NONo. Because when people down through history from the time of Constantine onwards exercised power over people in the name of Christ they were not acting as true representatives of either Christ or Christianity. So when people exercised coercive power over others in the name of Christianity they were doing so illegitimately. Jesus said to Pilate, "My kingdom is not of this world." If on the other hand you are referring to the true power of God which changes and transforms lives then the would be a definite yes. This happened to numerous people in Jesus' day, in the early church in the book of Acts, and countless thousands down through history and is still happening down to this present day. This happened not as a dominating coercive force but as people acknowledged their sin and repented God came into their lives with His power and changed them.YEP, YOU BET WE DO! We don't have power over people but we do have power over demons who try and enter our bodies. We can beat up demons through God.Another opinion:The Bible does not teach that we can "beat up" demons. It simply teaches that we can cast them out of people in the name of Jesus.
