Expository preaching, which involves explaining and applying the meaning of a passage of Scripture, is considered by many to be a biblical approach to preaching. It is based on the belief that the Bible is the inspired word of God and should be the foundation for teaching and preaching. Many churches and theologians support expository preaching as a way to accurately convey the message of the Bible to believers.
Barnabas encouraged the believers in Jerusalem to accept Saul after his conversion by speaking about Saul's encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus and his subsequent preaching of the gospel. Barnabas vouched for Saul's sincerity and transformation, leading the believers to trust in Saul's newfound faith.
Calling non-Muslims towards Islam is called Dawah. It is incumbent in Islam for believers to call upon non-believers toward the path of truth and righteousness. "Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord, with wisdom and beautiful preaching, and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious!" [Al-Qur'an 16:125]
