Basically, the British invaded 800 years ago. In 1921, after oppression and inequality, the I.R.A. fought the British. We reclaimed 26 counties. The I.R.A. disbanded in 1969 and so the Provisional I.R.A.(P.I.R.A., Provos, commonly "I.R.A.") were formed. They wanted the rest of Ireland back from the British, and a 32-county socialist democratic republic.
