Quick format typically leaves the existing file system in place, but removes the file markers and indicates the space as available. Quick format does not check to see if the disk is damaged, so it probably should not be used when installing an operating system or transferring important files.
There is no such thing as "Quick NTFS." I assume you are referring to the Windows XP installation screen where you are asked to format the hard drive. The choices presented are:Format the drive as NTFSFormat the drive as NTFS (quick)Format the drive as FAT32 - This will not appear on drives over 32 GBFormat the drive as FAT32 (quick) - This will not appear on drives over 32 GB"Quick" in this context refers to how the installer formats the drive. A regular format will check the drive for errors, while a quick format will not. On a larger hard drive, a full format can take several minutes, while the quick format is much faster.
Yes - choosing quick format does not search for bad sectors and can compromise the reliability of the disk

an easy way is to go to my computer and right click on the usb drive. then click format... after that you can set it either for quick format or full format. make your choice and click OK/continue or format. then after it finishes your usb will be completely empty
A quick format simply erases the file control structures on the partition such as the Master File Table (MFT) on NTFS formatted partitions or the File Allocation Table (FAT) on FAT(32) formatted partitions. A full format also checks the drive for bad sectors and, upon encountering any, adds them to the drives internal list of bad sectors so they will be completely ignored and unused by the file system. When formatting a new disk for the first time or a disk with unknown history it is better to perform a full format. If you are just reinstalling your operating system on a known good drive then a quick format will suffice.
In Access 2010, Auto-format has been replaced with themes, but you can still use the auto-format function. To use auto-format, you have to add it to either your quick access toolbar or in one of your ribbons. To add it, right click on either your quick access toolbar or ribbon and select "Customize the ribbon". On the menu that pops up, Select "Commands not in the Ribbon" under the 'Choose commands from' pulldown. You will see the auto-format command around 5 places down from the top. In order to add it to your ribbon, you have to create a custom group, but you can put it anywhere. For the quick access toolbar, you just click and drag.
