it means it wont go
Duramax is a diesel motor. Most diesels have a built in governor to keep the engine speed from going too high. I suspect that the engine is hitting the top speed and the governor is kicking in just before you shift.
If your 1997 Chevy diesel will not shift into overdrive, you might have an issue with a transmission sensor. Some of these vehicles have several sensors that must engage in order to shift.
they can, or you can customize it.
would you rather it shift slow????????
They are made by the brand Shift.
It is inside the trans, on the valve body.
The range of hourly assignment
None.
Top of the transmission.. on a manual shift, it should be just behind and to the left of the shift column.
If you have a low speed such as an 8-10 it is a simple double clutch and shift. But, if you have 13-18 you will have a low and high range switch. 18 Speed is simple for me It is in low range shift 1-4 at 4 switch to high range. Shift 4-8. So, in reality you are not actually shifting 18 times.
Probable failed throttle position sensor.
sounds like the auto transmission has a fault
