RMS is the max watts its recommended to run on, for example i got 2 15's that are 3000 watt rms so i got a 2500 watt amp. You don't want to get too big of an amp because it will put stress on the speakers and wont last long.
No it will not damage sub unless its raining or something.
RMS basically means the wattage at which the sub woofer can run indefinitely without any serious risk of failure. Typically the companies that produce the Sub woofers advertise a max power. A good estimate of the RMS wattage is about 1/3 to 1/2 the max wattage, so typically a sub that says max wattage of 1000w would be around 300 - 500 watts RMS. Also take into consideration that not all sub woofers are constructed the same, a good example is from my personal experience, I bought 2 12" off brand Legacy subwoofers rated at 800w RMS and I ran them at about 1000w RMS, and they both blew after a week. On the same note I bought my brother in laws 2 12" Rockford Fosgate subs rated at 2000w RMS and they have been running strong at 10000W for a couple years and absolutely no problems.
you could possibly kill your amp. because the subs are asking for a certain amount of power and your amp cant give the power. but typically the amp will push all its power avalible to the sub and you should be fine. but for the optimum sound system the amp rms should be the same or close to the sub rms.
You need to know how much power the sub woofers are rated to handle. Choose a power amp that can supply sufficient power.A power amp designed specifically for sub woofer use delivers all of it's power at the lower frequencies where a sub woofer operates. They may also have better cooling since they operate at higher power than full range amps.
Any amp will power a 15" sub. What you need to know is what is the RMS of the 15" sub. Lets say its 200 watts RMS than you will want a max of 200 watts for your amp.
YES
The question should be, can the two 15 inch sub-woofers handle 900 Watts? The speakers should have a power rating marked on them. If the speakers can handle 900 Watts, and they are suitably impedance matched with the amplifier, there should not be a problem.
Find out what the rms is for that sub woofer,if it'1000 then find out what the max is,then you could go between the rms power and the max power to get the right amount of watts.
Yes, are we talking rms or max? If its rms you will have no problem. well the amp is a 1500 watt max but 350wx1 rms in 4 ohm
200 watts
Best Buy and other electronics retailers stock Pioneer sub woofers. The can also be found at Amazon and other electronics retailers on the internet such as Overstock.
this monoblock amp is bridged internally. It can handle a minimum of 350w RMS one channel and a maximum of 700. I'd suggest letting a mono amp power a single sub for best results. But people do use it to power 2 10 inch subs as well.
