This may include parking assistance, providing general information about services and facilities within the airport, such as shops, restaurants, medical services, private rooms for nursing, prayer rooms or rooms for reflection, directions to check-in desks, etc.
An airport representative may also participate in assisting passengers facing delays due to cancelled flights, etc. This may include distribution of blankets, water, or other limited items.
An airport representative should not be confused with the role of an airline representative, whose sole responsibility is to serve and assist passengers travelling on the specific airline. Their roles may include, assistance and directions with private club access, assisting families, or travellers with small children, 'UM's' or Unaccompanied Minors, questions regarding baggage, baggage check-in, etc. The duties or job description can vary drastically, depending on the requirements of the individual airline and its marketed level of service.
