I think this is related to permissions given to a file in unix OS. r --> read w --> write e --> execute rw-rw-r-- means first " rw-" for owner read and write permissions " rw- " for group read and write permissions " r--" for others read permissions only I hope this is correct, if any one finds mistake, Please let me know about the mistake... regards, kesavareddy.D
CD-R is Compact Disk - Read CD-RW is Compact Disk - Read, Write
Ok this one can be tough to answer. The firm answer is "It depends". Regardless of the age of the cd rom drive the determining factor is "format". For CDs there are many, there are (without the quotes) "+R", "+RW", "-R", and "-RW". Yes the + and the - signs are there on purpose. A drive that can read/burn in +R can read +R and -R, and +RW and -RW. a drive that can read/burn in -R or -RW, can ONLY read -R and -RW. If you look at your CD, somewhere on the label (and somewhere on the player usually) it will say if it's a + or - R. So if your drive is a CD-RW +R (or +RW) it can read either format. If it's a CD-RW -R (or -RW) it can only read other disks that are -R (or -RW). The -R format has kind of fallen by the wayside because the +R is so much more 'universal'. But there are many many burners out there that write and read only -R. I hope this helps answer your questions!
You can not RW an R DVD-R can only be written once, DVD-RW can be rewritten many times
No. An ISO image can be burned to a CD-R, CD-RW, or even writable DVDs (DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW).
It has to be a DVD-RW or DVD+RW. R means Writable, RW means Re-Writable.
Yes it Can Also cd rw and dvd r and dvd rw can also
A CD-R or CD-RW or DVD-R or DVD-RW will do.
What_is_the_difference_between_a_cd_minus_R_and_a_cd_plus_R
The "r" in the DVD-r means that the disc can only be recorded once. If using a DVD-RW the "rw" means that the disc can be erased and used time and time again. Hence "r" for record, and "rw" for read/write. hope this helps!
A CD-RW drive is able to Read CDs, VCDs, and write CD-R and CD-RW.
A DVD multi recorder can both read and burn the various normal CD and DVD formats, i.e. CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, and DVD-RW.
CD-RW drive's can rewrite data on the disks.
