Hogging refers to a ship's hull bending or sagging in a concave shape along its length, often in the middle portion of the vessel. This deformation can occur due to uneven distribution of weight or cargo on board, causing the hull to flex downward in the center. Hogging can potentially weaken the structure of the ship and lead to structural failure if not addressed.
