It's to bring a dog back to what it was originally bred for. Tracking, Obedience, and Protection work are the three events the dog has to be tested on. Idealy a dog should have a schutzhund 1 to be bred and a breed survey. This sport originated in Germany and is most commonly played by German Shepherd Dogs, but all breeds are allowed to enter. There are certain restrictions such as height and length of the dog since most dogs are too big from being bred wrong. You need the right temperment and structure in a the mother dog to get good puppies. And the same goes for the male dog you are breeding her with. There are many shows all over the US and the world you can go to watch. Conformation and Trial are just two types. Thank you for reading up on schutzhund, and I hope you get into the sport as much as I am!

You want your Pit to react aggressively? This really isn't a good idea. The only truly safe way to have a guard dog is to teach him to control his bite. This means training him in schutzhund or something similar.
Most service dogs used in the United States know commands in English. Some dogs are trained in Germany or in the United States under the "schutzhund" method, and learn commands in German.
