SRC- the unconcious reference to one's own culture values in comparison to other culture
SRC-if we talk about in basic terms then SRC means to forget about self like if a company is going to some Another Country then the going company will have to take care about the culture etc of the host country and will have to forget about our culture like McDonalds when entered India they sold product aloo tikki burger inspite of their beef burger.
They cannot be avoided. Goedel knew it and if we look hard enough self reference pervades every part of our lives.

Curry's paradox is a logical paradox that involves self-reference and challenges traditional notions of truth. It arises when a statement asserts its own falsehood, leading to a contradiction. This paradox highlights the complexities and limitations of our understanding of truth and self-reference in logic and philosophy.
Self-reference Criteria In 1966, James Lee used the term to characterise our unconscious reference to our own cultural values. This can be very misleading when assessing countries/markets. There is the danger that the global marketer may assume that the foreign culture may respond as his own. He suggested a 4-step approach to eliminate our self-reference criteria: * Define the problem or goal in terms of your own culture, traits, habits and norms. * Define the problems in terms of the foreign culture, traits, habits and norms. * Isolate and examine your Self Reference Criteria. * Redefine the situation without your Self Reference Criteria and solve for the foreign situation.

The self-reference effect is the tendency for individuals to have better memory for information that relates to oneself in comparison to material that has less personal relevance. The self-reference effect was first proposed by Rogers, Kuiper and Kirker (1977) in a study expanding the classic depth-of-processing work by Craik and Tulving (1975). In order to understand the mechanisms underlying self-referent encoding, it is important to first review the depth-of-processing model.
Answer this question... It is better to depend on your self and your on means , rather then to depend on aanother
Self reference criterion is the influence of one's culture on the behavior in a given situation. When put in a situation people tend to respond in a way that is closely associated with their culture. In international marketing scenarios, we are talking about working in different cultural environments and hence a self referenced behavior may not be the "correct" behavior from the perspective target culture. Hence realization of this differences of culture and the possibility of self reference criterion is important in international marketing. This is not such a big issue in domestic marketing since the cultural difference are not major.
