how can i reset the service b message on the mercedes clk 430?
How do I reset the Service A/B on a CLK 350
You would have to have service B performed by a authorized Mercedes Benz technician. There is a special laptop they hook up to the cars after these services are performed in order to get rid of that message on your dash. On the CLK 320 Cabrolet you have to perform a series of actions on your dash i.e. reset button etc. to reset the service reminder. There is no plug in for a Mercedes techniciam to reset the reminder.
I am looking for what is included in a "Service A" maintenance for Mercedes CLK 500; not "Service B". Can you help me?
You will spend $550.00 at the MBZ dealer for the service "B" which is basically and oil and filter, air filter and cabin filter change and some basic inspections. They will also rest the service reminder which can also be done by you once you figure it out.
Service B at the dealership will set you back over $500.00 including $129.00 for the oil change. The CLK 320 engine holds eight quarts of oil and we use synthetic motor oil of high quality. A number of engine and cabin filters are changed in this service level. Service A is a little less expensive because fewer filter changes are included. Basically it's just an oil change and a safety review of the stuff that keep you going straight down the road. The service modules are about 15,000 miles apart so for most folks that is more than a year between A and B.
it depends on the wrench that shows if you have one wrench that would indicate an A service and two wrenches would indicate a B service you can get a detailed list of these from your local MB dealer
The services will depend on the place you take it. You can ask them what all they include in the service.
Service B for a 2002 Mercedes E320 is an oil change. It also includes an inspection of the brakes, wipers, and other mechanical parts.
Turn the key to position 2. Scroll to service "b" using the up or down arrow button on the steering wheel. Then press and hold the odometer reset button on the lefthand side of the instrument cluster. The screen will then change and say press button for 3 seconds to reset. At that time release and then press and hold the button for 3 seconds. It will then reset to 10,000 miles.
Rough cost would be $300 - $500 depending on what all needs to be replaced and who does it. Dealership will likely be the higher end or more. Local MB specialist will likely be on the lower.
