A shaft sleeve is a piece of metal tubing placed over the shaft to protect as it passes through the packing area.
The adapter sleeve is typically used when the bearing is on a shaft without a shoulder and needs to be placed properly in a pillow block housing for example. This sleeve uses a hydraulic or mechanical device or nut to tighten the bearing on the sleeve and hydraulic oil injected into the end of the sleeve on larger sizes to release bearing when removing. The withdrawal sleeve is used when the bearing is installed against a shoulder on the shaft and pushes the bearing against the shoulder while tightening. The advantage of this is the bearing can be installed with the shaft out of the machine since it is pressing against a shoulder, with the adapter sleeve, it would be more difficult to position the bearing with the shaft out of the machine since it is free to move on the shaft until it is tightened. The choice of which to use will depend on the design of your shaft and how it will be installed. The attached document shows the mounting and dismounting methods of both sleeves and will probably answer many of your questions.

Cone crusher crushes materials by the working surface between the movable cone and fixed cone. The movable cone is supported by spherical bearing and fixed on an hanging erect shaft which is set in the eccentric sleeve, and the sleeve is set on the stopping and pushing bearing. The movable cone and erect shaft are driven by the eccentric shaft sleeve together. The eccentric shaft sleeve is driven by horizontal shaft and fimbriated gear, and the wheel of the conveyor belt is driven by motor through v-belts. The lower part of vertical shaft is installed in the eccentric sleeve. When the eccentric sleeve rotates, there is a conical surface lined out by the shaft. When the movable cone comes near the fixed cone, rocks are grinded into pieces, when the cone leaves, grinded materials is discharged from the discharge hole. The fixed cone can be ascended or descended by adjusting setting to adjust the width of discharge hole, consequently the output size is determined.

A Sleeve pipe is inserted into a drilled hole to separate any liquids from the surrounding surfaces and the water below. The sleeve is a sealed piece of material pressed into the shaft and this keeps any contamination from going down the shaft and being absorbed into the water table below. Separating water tables is a common reason for their required installation.
yes. there are after-market shafts that use a steel sleeve pinned to the shaft. much better than stock.
Murex 25 is the scientific term for spinning a shaft within a cylindrical sleeve exactly 10,000 times
Cone Crusher's crushing action is caused by the closing of the gap between the mantle line (movable) mounted on the central vertical spindle and the concave liners (fixed) mounted on the main frame of the crusher. The gap is opened and closed by an eccentric on the bottom of the spindle that causes the central vertical spindle to gyrate. The vertical spindle is free to rotate around its own axis.
A seal worn shaft will show polished tracks or grooves. While you may be able to feel the smaller diameter or shaft wear area with your fingernail, often the damage will show only when new seals leak. Speedi sleeve is a highly engineered, precision part of finest stainless steel. Its ultra thin wall design allows it to be used with out changing the seal size. Speedi sleeves are built with a removable installation flange. The installation tool included in every box allows the sleeve to be pulled on. Due to this design; it is often possible to install Speedi sleeves without removing the shaft. With the sleeve in place, the size of seal which was previously used will still be a perfect fit, eliminating the need to purchase new seals, as is invariably necessary when worn shafts are reground.
Some of those setups have a crush sleeve that must be replaced along with that seal. It also requires specific torque specs To replace seal, remove the drive shaft, remove the pinion nut and crush sleeve if required, remove seal, install new seal and crush sleeve install pinion nut and torque to specs
