What is the side effect of taking a blood thinner before an epidural injection?
Most of the time ... nothing. But - nick an artery (or even a big vein) and get a blood clot in the epidural space and with a bit of luck (all bad) you end up paralyzed from the waist down.

Anesthetics can prolong labor and increase the risk of requiring a cesarean section . Doctors should discuss the risks and benefits associated with epidural or spinal anesthesia with pregnant patients
