In object-oriented programming (OOP), inheritance is a way to reuse code of existing objects, or to establish a subtype from an existing object, or both, depending upon programming language support.

In classical inheritance where objects are defined by classes, classes can inherit attributes and behavior from pre-existing classes called base classes, superclasses, parent classes or ancestor classes. The resulting classes are known as derived classes, subclasses or child classes.

The relationships of classes through inheritance gives rise to a hierarchy. In prototype-based programming, objects can be defined directly from other objects without the need to define any classes, in which case this feature is called differential inheritance.

The inheritance concept was invented in 1968 for Simula.

What is the difference between cytosplasmic and mendelian inheritance?

To make this simple cytoplasmic inheritance is the inheritance of genes in organelles such as mitochondria that do not go through regular mitosis which is Mendelian inheritance. It is a bit more complex than this and can be easily Googled.

How does the mode of inheritance affect the prediction and analysis of inheritance patterns?

There are lots of ways. A simple way is to do a Punnett Square. It's useful in studying independent inheritance patterns (multiple traits that are not on the same chromosome).

How do you predict genetic inheritance using simple inheritance?

you find out which trait comes from which parents (cleft chin, baldness, etc) and then you look at the parents (and their parents) and you can guess the kids eye color, hair color, wether they will go bald and other cool little things

What was common British law in the 1700s regarding whether an unmarried woman could inherit from her father's estate?

In the 1700s, British common law typically did not allow unmarried women to inherit directly from their father's estate. Instead, the inheritance would pass to the closest male relative, such as a brother or uncle. Unmarried women had limited legal rights and were often economically dependent on male relatives.

He studied the inheritance of relatively simple, easily detected traits.

Does hybrid inheritance consist of ANY two types of inheritance?

There are only two types of inheritance to begin with: single inheritance and multiple inheritance. Since they are mutually exclusive there is no such thing as hybrid inheritance.
