(I had to look this term up myself...!) My best 'guess' is that you're looking for an answer to what could cause an extremity --or specific functioning area of the trunk-- to malfunction. For example: a fracture would cause an extremity to quit performing normally.... a torn or ruptured muscle would do the same... Tendonitis of one of the muscular attachments would interfere with the functioning of a limb... Then there are the conditions of spasticity... paralysis... etc. (such as Muscular Dystrophy).
