Race helps us classify people based on a set/structure of phenotypes. Hence, society likes to label people based on them. This can have social effects, more often negative, as people tend to attribute certain personality traits to their phenotypes. For instance, people like to attribute the phenotypes found in African (sub-Saharan) populations to being uncivilized, although there are very intelligent and civilized members of that group. As far as Biology is involved, any person brought up in a certain culture will perform well in it.

In addition, since humans are constantly mutating, race is not a good biological concept.
