It depends on exactly what question you're asking. American society's general view on family planning is to work around ones natural cycle. And as Americans, the general public believes that contraception and abortion are completely acceptable. As a practicing Catholic, I believe that no forms of the former are acceptable in any way, shape, or form. As Catholics, after one is married as well as financially, spiritually, and physically ready to have a baby, we practice NFP (Natural Family Planning) We learn our natural cycles, such as when we are ovulating and when we are not. It is the Catholic way to consummate a marriage through sex, and contraception, as I said, is prohibited. If one is not ready to have a child, they simply don't have sex when they are ovulating. There is a 12 to 16 day time frame in the monthly cycle when there is little to no chance of getting pregnant. So people use that.
Does your culture accept family planning? If so, how do you plan families? Some religions do not accept certain forms of birth control. Some cultures favor certain types of family planning; for example in the United States the most popular form of birth control is the Pill.

In the heart of the Samoa culture there lie the respect (fa'aaloalo) and obligation for togetherness and family. Samoa culture centres around large groups of families, not just the immediate family, but the extended family as well. The traditional chief of a Samoa society is a Matai, who holds a high social rank, and has the responsibility to take care of the civic, political, family matters and other needs of the Samoa society.
