It depends on exactly what question you're asking. American society's general view on family planning is to work around ones natural cycle. And as Americans, the general public believes that contraception and abortion are completely acceptable. As a practicing Catholic, I believe that no forms of the former are acceptable in any way, shape, or form. As Catholics, after one is married as well as financially, spiritually, and physically ready to have a baby, we practice NFP (Natural Family Planning) We learn our natural cycles, such as when we are ovulating and when we are not. It is the Catholic way to consummate a marriage through sex, and contraception, as I said, is prohibited. If one is not ready to have a child, they simply don't have sex when they are ovulating. There is a 12 to 16 day time frame in the monthly cycle when there is little to no chance of getting pregnant. So people use that.

Samoans are Polynesians. The Samoan Motto is: "Fa'avae i le Atua Samoa" (Samoa is founded on God). In the heart of the Samoa culture there lie the respect (fa'aaloalo) and obligation for togetherness and family. Samoa culture centres around large groups of families, not just the immediate family, but the extended family as well.
