What is solution of sugar and water called?
Sucrose solution or aquous solution of sucrose. How about "Syrup"? syrups may be true solution or fine suspensions of any compound or compounds not nacessarily sugar.
When water is mixed with sugar, the solution is called a sugar solution. We heat the sugar solution on a evaporation dish and the water will evaporate then leave it to cool and sugar crysatls (sugar) will be formed. But if you need the water to be obtained also ,you will need to use the process of "simple distillation".
solute is the substance being dissolved, solvent is the substance doing the dissolving. A solution is a mixture, not a compound. There is no exact formula for a solution, there can be a small amount dissolved (called a dilute solution) or a large amount dissolved (called a concentrated solution). Sugar in water is a solution, sugar is the solute, water is the solvent.
The sugar dissolves in water, that is why the water becomes sweet. The sugar and water together forms a sugar solution. The water is called a solvent. Sugar, the substance that dissolves in water is called a solute. Water dissolves many substances. These substanes are said to be soluble in water. The ones that do not dissolve in water are said to be insoluble in water.
A solute is dissolved in the solution, so if for example you are talking about sugar and water, the white sugar is invisible and the water is clear. So when you filter the water/sugar solution everything filters through the filter paper. If the solution is saturated, this means that the water has dissolved as much as possible so there will be some sugar remaining in the solution. If this is to be filtered then the…
