One such enemy was the Hyksos who attacked with many powerful vehicles known as chariots, drawn by horses. This led to the fall of the Middle Kingdom, which later recovered when Ahmose of Thebes drove them out of Egypt, claiming the throne. They were later attacked again, only improving their defenses, but fell into chaos when the sea peoples attacked.
