Best Answer

telome theory The proposition that certain plant organs are derived from modified reduced branch systems. Thus *megaphyllsare believed to be derived by the flattening of a branch system and the subsequent development of ground tissue (webbing) between the branches. Some believe stamens may also have originated in this manner, rather than from microsporophylls.
