Technically the coins are altered an have no numismatic collectible value, the plating is NOT done by the US Mint and adds nothing to the value of the coins.
Most dealers (myself included) won't even make an offer on this stuff. As to value, I just did a search on EBay and it showed a winning bid of $52.00 for a set like this.
It is only gold plated. Since it is gold plated it is an altered coin and is worth 50 cents.
Please rephrase question.
The values of any colorized or plated coin is whatever you can get for it, they have no numismatic value at all. But it's still a quarter
What you have is a regular quarter that someone (NOT the U.S. Mint) gold plated.
It's just a state quarter that has been gold plated and it has no collectible value at all, unless you find someone that wants it.
Neither. There's no silver in it and it's not silver plated; it's very nearly pure nickel.
five hundred dollars
No. All quarters made in 1965 and after are made of copper plated with nickel.
17 thousand dollars
Since it is gold plated it is considered an altered coin and is worth face value.
Not much about 25 cents worth it's plated.
It is only worth 25 cents and in no longer spendable.
