Since your question was posted under United States History, I figured you were referring to the United States. In the United States, no states are around 60 years old. The "newest" states to attain statehood are Hawaii and Alaska, which were both granted statehood in 1959 making them 50 years old. Before these two states, Arizona was the youngest state at 97 years old (it became a state in 1912). Outside of the U.S., the "60-year-old state" most commonly refers to Israel. In 1948, Israel declared its independence leading to 60 years of tension and war between Israelis and Arabs in Palestine.
