The Apple II used the 8 Bit 6502 processor that could address a maximum of 64 Kilobytes of RAM. The first version came with only 4Kb of RAM although this was increased to 48Kb in later versions. The original version stored data on tape cassettes but floppy disks were made available which could hold a little over 100Kb per disk.
