A type of CPU could mean a few things. If you're looking for your CPU type a program called CPU-Z can get all the following information for you.
The seller - For a desktop CPU this is normally either Intel or AMD, but VIA sell some desktop CPU's aswell.
The model - A manufacturer like AMD or Intel create lots of different chip models by changing the number of cores, the cache (super fast memory on the CPU) and the clock speed. If you find out a CPU's model number you can find out all other info from it via a quick Google.
The clock speed - This is how fast the core is clocked. A higher clock speed allows a core to finish tasks in less time. It is measured in Hertz (Hz) . Most CPU's today run in speeds measured in Giga Hertz (GHz) or a billion hertz. Such as an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ which runs at 2.6GHz.
The number of cores - CPU's today can consist of multiple cores each carrying out tasks simultaneously. Today's top CPU's have 6 cores.
The socket - The pins on the bottom of a processor are laid out to fit a certain type of socket on a motherboard. For Intel chips this includes LGA1366, LGA 775 among others. For AMD this includes AM2, AM2+ and AM3. The socket of the CPU and motherboard must match for them to work together.
The type of architecture (instruction set) - The set of instructions and general design of a processor. Software compiled for a certain architecture can only run on hardware of that architecture. Common architecture types would include x86 some times called Intel Architecture as it was based on the Intel 8086. x86 is the instruction set used in almost all desktop and laptop CPU's. ARM is another architecture used in the vast majority of mobile phones, smart phones and tablets. PowerPC is another. PowerPC based chips are used in most games consoles such as the XBox360, PS3 and Nintendo Wii. Itanium, SPARC and MIPS are examples of other Instruction set/ architectures.
Depends on what you want to do.
AMD's are better for gamers and power users.
Intel are better for desktop publishers.
Everything else is just not worthy of mentioning.
¨Its provides internal storage within the CPU ¨It is a fastest type of storage ¨Its provides internal storage within the CPU ¨It is a fastest type of storage
types of register in the CPU are bits and chips
Type your answer here... in a cpu used semicondutor matariyal
as in what computer or which is the best CPU? best CPU in my opinion is one of two... the Intel i7 ect range or the AMD phenom range (AMD is good if your on a budget)
The Gateway LT3103u netbook with Athlon CPU is one of the best for browsing.
You can visit the manufactures website and type in the model number, they will be able to recommend the best fan.
There are many type of CPU sockets (and slots) designed to conform to the arrangement of pins on the bottom (or side) of the CPU. Just from the Intel/AMD PC compatible platform there are over 50 socket names and types for the various CPUs going back to the 1980s. Then there are company platforms such as Motorola and IBM (Mainframe and I system and there predecessors) each using the socket type best suited for the CPU architecture.
Whats the fastest and most efficient
The CPU is not like blood, if the CPU were a human body part it would best fit as the brain of the computer.
The best CPU is probably the Intel dual core E6750 or some AMD 64 BLACK version.
