What is a good beginner electric guitar?

Ask yourself this; do you WANT a beginner guitar? If you are serious about playing and you know you could become skilled, go for a mid to high end one. If you are set on a beginner guitar go for a cheap acoustic or a squier stratocaster.

It would have to be any kind of Gibson or Fender. They create a good sound and can be bought rather cheap. They also can be beat very expensive depending on what attributes you want.

Gibsons average around usd1000-2500 and fenders us$500-900. that is not that cheap. but a used fender ($200- 400) is a good bet for the country/ blues/ rock thing and Craigslist or American musical will net you a nice humbucker guitar for rock/ metal etc. Those First Act guitars at Walmart are total crap. Do not ever buy unless you do not care to become better, ever. Try to pay at least $100 for a decent git.

I bought a $99 warlock from AMS and put a $75 Seymour Duncan pickup in it, and a push/pull knob ($12) to change series/parallel and it freaking rocks and has amazing, versatile sound for under 200 all new.

A good Electric Guitar to start with is a fender stratocaster, but they are quite expensive The best substitute I found was a squire stratocaster which is only around £350-500.

Another good guitar to start with is a Gibson Les Paul, these are expensive too so you could get a Epiphone Les paul which is cheaper. If you live in the UK check out a Pmt (Professional Music Technology) , they sell all the guitars mentioned.

These are just guidelines as they are good beginners guitars but is there are any musicians you like look at which guitar they are using.

P.S. If you like a blues type of sound a squire telecaster is a good move too.

Here, I suggest a black basic "Fender Stratocaster" guitar. It is not to fancy, nor not too bland. It is personally, my best opinion.
