It is a high gear which delivers the best gas mileage at higher speeds by reducing the engines's rpm's.
You most certainly do, it is called overdrive. You may be able to achieve high speeds in 4th gear, BUT you can also acheive those speeds in 5th gear but with lower RPMs, thus resulting in an increase in fuel economy
Overdrive is the name given to the highest possible gear available in a transmission. Of all possible gears, this high gear gets the RPM (revolutions per minute) of the wheels closest to the RPM of the transmission. This is typically used for highway travel at high speeds and has the highest mpg for the vehicle. In high gears at high speed, the engine has good power available to propel the vehicle. But at lower speeds, in high gear, the engine power available to propel the car diminishes. This leads to the O/D overdrive button in some vehicles. This mode is typically used when towing or driving in hilly or mountainous areas. Since the power diminishes as lower speeds, in high gear, the transmission needs to compensate when driving under these two conditions. The trans will try to match the best gear with power available at various engine speeds and vehicle speeds. Sometimes, this may mean switching to a lower gear with higher engine RPMs. This allows more power to be available to climb hills or tow loads up an incline without the driver being forced to shift to lower gear manually (gears 2, or 1 in automatics, or shifting down to 4th, or 3rd gear in standards).
they are expensive Italian sports cars with grate design and that reach very high speeds

Why wont my 1994 Ford Taurus GL 6cyl Auto transmission shift into third(high) gear. It will only reach speeds of about 35mph +/-
Could be, lack of maintenance, abuse, lack of oil, lack of coolant, high mileage, exceeding speeds in any gear (abuse)
Games at High Speeds was created in 2003.
They are known for their high speeds, low-gear pull, and high climbing ability. They are seen as the only stock U.S. car of its time that could elicit a sports car performance.
The variable intake controls the amount of air pushed through the engine in order to keep it from stalling. The laws of physics that describe Air flow at speeds below Mach 1 (speed of sound) are different for air flow at supersonic speeds. So the size and shape of the engine inlet at low speeds are different that at high speeds.
It is best to use overdrive at speeds above 55 miles per hour. Overdrive maximizes your fuel mileage at high speeds.
why does the gear box jam on my sons ktm then i get on go up to top gear then come down through the gears at high revs and it fixes it self
