most contraception if used properly is 93-99.9 percent effective against pregnancy. condoms are best for protecting against both pregnancy and disease.

perfect condom use at say 98% plus diaphragm at 94% would likely result at one pregnancy per 750 woman years.

You are 99% (or more) protected from pregnancy when you use BCP and condoms. Added protection from STI's from condoms.
