Charity means, to love another as the Great Spirit loves us: so many miss this concept, because of the different names of God. For example, too often we seek provision from earthly things: money, work, relationships. When we do not get our provisions from honoring the Great Spirit first, we miss our purpose and connectedness to our fellow man. We are only seeking those things out of selfish reasons, rather than heeding the voice of the Great Spirit in how we are to treat our neighbor as ourselves. Some of us don't treat ourselves well, which is likely if we are not one in unity of the Spirit, so it is hard for us to have good relationships or to know how to do so. Charity is love for others we don't know: not the ones we have to be nice to because of family or other acquaintances. This is what brings all of us together, to not just understand and know a person is in need, but to heed the Great Spirit as being the facilitator of meeting needs.
