it in the other direction is 180 degrees west. The greatest possible longitude in
either direction is 180 degrees, and both of those are the same meridian (line).

The Antimeridian is also known as the 180th Merdian because it 180 degrees from the Prime Merdian by crossing either the eastern or western hemispheres. In other words. this means the Antimeridian is both 180E (+180) and 180W (-180). It is used as the basis for the International Date Line (IDL).
