The European Commission is the executive body of the European Union. It is responsible for proposing legislation, implementing decisions, upholding treaties and much of the day-to-day running of the European Union. Each country has one member of the Commission, so there are currently 28 members. Each individual is given individual responsibilities, like agriculture or finance etc., and they also all work together.
