What is the Importance of making a time table in your life?

It all depends on your life, your responsibilities your priorities, your interests, your commitments etc. (and your personality!)

NOT EVERYONE needs to make a time table. Some have their time already scheduled for them! At the other end of the scale, some have no pressing matters, and can do what they like when they like and no-one suffers as a result.

But for MOST PEOPLE, some form of schedule is very beneficial, especially if they have to co-ordinate their activities with others.

For example, STUDENTS have to schedule study time, otherwise it is all too easy to do what you like doing, at the expense of doing what should be done. i.e. study!

And people with very busy lives often make a point of scheduling times for necessary relaxation and recreation.

Similarly, if a person has a RANGE OF MATTERS that must be attended to, unless a specific time is set aside for essentials, inevitably what is really very important easily becomes overlooked if valuable and time is spent on less important, or even on unimportant matters.

IF A SERIES OF ACTIONS have to take place in a certain order, it is important to make some sort of list or time table so that everything is done and/or ready to be done in the most effective way. If you are having a party, you'll need to set time aside to make a list of who you are going to invite. Then you'll need to make time for actually inviting them. You'll have to tell them when to arrive, Them it will be necessary to schedule the purchase and cooking of the food you want to have, and for maybe for putting up decorations. The bigger the party, the more important good time-tabling will be!

IT'S NOT EASY! There is often a conflict when it comes to setting time aside. Preferences can so easily take precedence over what should be our priorities!

BENEFITS: A time table helps us to be more efficient and effective. A schedule is a written record of considered decisions made on the allocation of 'time to tasks.' It will serve as an aide-memoire for carrying out necessary activities, listing 'when and what' needs to be done. Unless a specific time/day/date is allocated to a particular task, especially if it is an unpleasant or difficult thing to tackle, the likelihood of it getting done is very close to zero!

If you set yourself a definite (and reasonable) time slot to do a task, or a series of tasks, and stick to it, you are more likely to have a life of accomplishment and satisfaction than you would if you leave everything until 'tomorrow!'
