A Jewish soul mate is often referred to as bashert. A bashert is defined as "A persons soul-mate, especially when considered and ideal or predestined marriage arrangement."
So you have found a person who is close to you in disposition, point of view, compatibility. So what else? Nice words but barely enough to warrant much atterntion, especially when he/she sleeps around. Let me be very clear: soul mates are soul mates. Wonderful! But does that description warrent a relationship? "Soul mate" is a cliché of our times. The meaning is kind of nebulous. If you would substitute "friend" your question wouldn't have come up. That's what we used to call soul mates.
