It should take about an hour to change the intake manifold gasket. This part can be replaced by taking off the intake manifold cover, cleaning the old gasket off and sealing a new gasket in the space and tightening the bolts. When other things are in the way, like the alternator, it will take longer.
replace the leaking intake gasket...?????????????need more info replace the leaking intake gasket...?????????????need more info --------------------------- The '00-'02 SOHC s-series have been notorios for leakin intake manifold gaskets. Symptoms include a SES code P0301 -304 (misfire codes) along with rough and high idles. A simple test will show if this is the problem. Using brake cleaner with the car on, spray around the gasket at each cylinder. if the idle changes then you have found your issue. FOr a how-to procedure with pictures email/message me.

P0301 = miss fire on Cylinder #1 2001 SOHC with a P0301 ---> Bad intake manifold gasket. Spray brake cleaner around the intake manifold gasket during idle. Listen for any changes in the idle. If so, you've found your problem. SOHC in the 3rd gen s-series are notorious for this. rockauto.com has new gaskets for 15 bucks. See saturnspot.com for a how-to
On a 1999 Camaro, the map sensor is located on the back of the intake manifold. The intake manifold is the series of tubing that distributes the air coming into the engine.
The intake manifold distributes the air fuel mixture from the carburetor to the cylinders. The exhaust manifold collects the exhaust gases from the cylinders and directs them out the exhaust pipe.

most likely a blown head gasket, cracked head, or bad intake gasket. with the s series. i would venture to say blown head gasket.
If it has a Northstar series engine, it is under the intake manifold right in the middle of the valley and contacts the top of the flywheel.
This question references General Motors built FWD vehicles with the 3800 Series supercharged engines. Sensors included the O2s in the exhaust manifold and the downstream of the catalytic converter pipe. knock sensors in the block, and the manifold absolute pressure sensors in the intake manifold.
Check the top of the intake manifold right by the ignitors. There sould be stamped on it the firing order.
