There is no minimum age a child can buy an energy drink at a store. Many people disagree with this and think that energy drinks should be for adults 18+.
I know the legal age to drink energy drinks is 12 and i think the reason is because you are going through puberty around that age so you wont wake up as easily in the morning so they drink a little bit. (on most energy drink cans it says you must be 12 or older to drink it.)

The warnings on almost all energy drinks statye they should not be consumed by children. In a legal sense this basically means anyone under 18 (depending on country) but in general use means anyone under 14.
