Silicon has 4 valence electrons Fluorine has 7 electons each. SiF4 has 4 single bonds. Silicon contributes one electron to each bond and fluorine contributes one electron. Each fluorine has three lone pairs of electrons left over. If I could paste a picture I would but this is the best I could do for a illustration

SeF4 I couldn't properly draw it with the available tools, so I hope you understand! I put two PAIRS of electrons on the middle F atoms, because I didn't have the tools but they should be technicaly below it!!!! Valency of Se: 6 and F: 7. Hence 6+4(7) = 34e- MIND: There are also two extra electrons on Se!!! .. .. :F: :F:

Si has 4 valence electronsH has 1 valence electron each so a total of 2

F has 7 valence electrons each so a total of 14

Put Si in the middle (least electronegative) and put 2 H atoms and 2 F atoms attached to the Si. Then put 3 lone pairs (6 electrons) around each of the two F atoms. That is the Lewis dot structure.
