Many police officers carry a card or a notebook containing a Miranda warning ("you have the right to remain silent," etc.), so they can testify in court to the precise language they used when they gave the admonition to a suspect. It isn't done all that often. In most circumstances where a Miranda warning is administered, the warning is on a paper form that the interviewer and suspect read together, with the suspect initialing each paragraph and signing at the bottom of the form. This form is then made part of the case file. If the suspect later says he was not properly warned, the form is used to impeach his claim.

1. The circumstances that led to Miranda's conviction were that a woman that was kidnapped and raped identified Miranda in a lineup. After that, he was questioned by the police in a separate room. How do you work a 9mm pistol?

9 mm is a European caliber. It is approximately equivalent to a 38 or 357 magnum. The 9 mm refers to the diameter of the barrel. It has nothing to do with the way the pistol is made. It can be a revolver and used like any other revolver or it can come as an automatic with a clip in the handle. The Germans used it in World War 2 just like the English and Americans used the 38. For a while police departments used it. However, police departments have mainly gone over to a 45 caliber automatic.
