What is the Mormons' difference to the polygamist ones?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) banned the practice of polygamy in 1890. Those who disagreed with this ban branched off and created their own churches (such as the Fundamentalist LDS, the Apostolic United Brethren, and others). These polygamist groups are in no way a part of the mainstream Mormon Church and have their own leadership. They believe that the mainstream Mormon Church has apostatized from the truth, but share similar beliefs about such things as the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, eternal families, and modern revelation.

Do Mormon polygamists have threesomes?

First of all, there is no such thing as "Mormon Polygamist". "Mormons", members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, have not practiced polygamy in over 120 years. Polygamists do not appreciate being called "Mormons", because they aren't. They broke away from the "Mormon" Church in the late 1800's, when the practice of polygamy was outlawed, and therefore don't want to be associated with them. (The association between the "Mormons" and the polygamists is similar to that of Catholics and Protestants, calling a polygamist a Mormon is like calling a Presbyterian a Catholic.) Polygamists usually call themselves "Fundamentalists", not "Mormons". And to answer the question: No, definitely not. Polygamists are very conservative. They consider sex a very sacred act and many polygamist groups believe that sex is only for producing children, not for pleasure. WHo was the first polygamist in the Bible?

Lamech. (There are two different Lamechs; the one descended from Cain rather than Seth is the polygamist.) While the narrative names Lamech's two wives it does not explicitly state that he was the first polygamist... the genealogy in Genesis only names a few people specifically, and simply refers generically to other sons and daughters besides the ones mentioned by name. Lamech is just the first polygamist that's unambiguously pointed out; there may or may not have been others before him.

What are the bad things that they say about Mormons?

Many things that people say against Mormons simply come from someone who is uninformed or has a different opinion. This does not mean that it is bad, but it is often offensive. Those who are uninformed or misinformed often say: -Mormons are polygamist (this practice was banned by the church over 120 years ago in 1890) -Mormons dont believe in the Bible (Mormons consider the King James Version of the Bible as sacred scripture and are encouraged to study it daily) -Mormons don't believe in Jesus (Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is their Savior, just like all Christians) -Mormons are cultish (Mormons live and dress and act just like most anyone else in society. They do not live on compunds, etc.) -Mormons worship Joseph Smith (Mormons believe Joseph Smith was a prophet, just like Moses or Abraham, not a god to be worshipped) -Mormons kidnap, brainwash, coerce, etc (Mormons wish everyone to make their own decisions, and define their standards by Scripture) Those who have different opinions and say things that are offensive to Mormons often say: -Mormons are not Christian (Mormons are not traditional Protestant Christians, but they do still believe in the Bible and salvation through Jesus Christ.) -Mormons are lying (Mormons honestly believe they are telling the truth) -Mormonism is a pyramid scheme (Mormons believe in paying a Tithe and in missions work to gain converts, but believe this is Biblically based and do not seek converts for monetary gain) -Mormons are unbiblical (Mormons believe that they are following the Bible very strictly, but the Bible can be interpreted differently by different people) -Mormonism is false (this is obviously just an opinion, but one that is often offensive to those who honestly believe)
