Muslim prayer life:

Muslims have to pray 5 times a day, morning, afternoon, midafternoon, evening, and night.

It might sound alot to a non-Muslim but to a Muslim, it is an honor and a satisfaction.

By praying 5 times a day it is assured that God (or Allah in Arabic) is always in their minds and that they are thankfull to what Allah has provided for them.

So basically it is a way of thanking God.

To a believer it is NOT a burden but a privilege. It is very satisfying. No matter how sad a person is, by praying and remembering the God a person can forget all the worries and sadness of the world.

All it takes is 10 minutes to pray. So when calculate it all takes 45 minutes of the day (24 hours).

Can't you commit 45 minutes to God and thank him for the 24 hours God has provided you?

And ofcourse there are exceptions when a person is not able to pray.

How does prayer make a difference to the way Muslims live?

Muslims, like all people of faith, believe that prayer is communication with God. In prayer the Muslim brings concerns, hopes and petitions to the Creator of all. During prayer, the Muslim listens for the voice of God who speaks in the heart. Prayer opens up the Muslim to the Divine will and this affects every aspect of daily life. In prayer, the believer comes closer to God and submits to His will, which alone brings peace and joy to the heart.
