First off, it's My Lai. And I am to assume that you're speaking of the My Lai Massacre, in which Lt. William Calley ordered the murder of some 300-500 innocent women, children, and elderly. Many of the bodies were found tortured, raped, and mutilated. When the incident became public knowledge it caused and increase in tensions between the U.S. and Vietnam.
