A 'Negro spiritual' is a kind of religious song originated by Blacks in the southern United States. These were hymns that were passed down among African-Americans. Such songs helped keep them sane during times of slavery, and they passed them onto their children. They were preserved through the work of Fisk University and other persons interested in African-American history.

There are hundreds if not thousands of them; it's impossible to tell which one you're referring to.

If you're asking what it means, it refers to a traditional religious song created by enslaved people in the United States. It can also be used for songs created by free people in the same "style".

One example that you've probably heard is Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, but as already mentioned, there are many many others (such as The Lonesome Road). The song Old Man Riverfrom the musical Showboat is another song that might be considered a spiritual, even thought it's not "authentic" and was specifically written for the play. (While not overtly religious, it does feature lines like "Show me the stream called the river Jordan" and "Get no rest 'til the Judgement Day.")
