Feb 25th, well generally speaking, the date you start counting is the following full day. Net 30 for Feb. 25th would go like this
3 days in FEB 26, 27, 28
leaving 27 days for March..
The date would be March 27th
For fun let's change this up and use January 25th as the invoice date?
6 days in January, which are the 26,27,28,29,30,31
leaving 24 days in Feb, giving us a due date of Feb 24th.
I understand that "Net 30" means "due in 30 days" (Net15 & Net60 mean due in 15 or 60 days, respectively, etc), but sometimes invoices simply say "NET" with no number. In my accounting classes (25 years or so ago) I was taught that "NET" means "NET 30", so I have always assumed this to be the case. Recently a vendor demanded payment for an invoice with "NET" terms that was less about 2 weeks old. He contended that "NET" means "due immediately" Who's right?
This is a type of Payment Terms that applies to an account between an Vendor and Customer. This is how it is defined: Any Invoice dated from the 1st of a given month to the 25th, will be due by the 10th of the following month. If an Invoice is not paid on time, that is by the 10th, a 1.5% service charge will apply.
$22,500
prox is short for Proximo, meaning in or of the following month. Generally speaking prox 25 usually means payment is due on the 25th day of the following month. For example, you receive your bill/invoice dated October 15, the payment is due before or on November 25.
Gross and net are often used to distinguish between an amount before a related expenses and after. For example, gross income and net income. If I earn $10,000 in a month that is my gross income. However, if I am taxed at 25%, I have to give $2,500 to the government. My net income is then $7,500 ($10,000 - $2,500).
The date of the last Sunday was Nov. 25, 2007.
