In June, Alaska can be very warm. At some points it is in the 70's. It is usually sweatshirt weather. Also, the sun really never goes down. It is bright for 24 hours a day.

today June 25 2009 it is 54 overcast low of 46 .... the coldest it has ever been there is -22 Jan. 1998 the warmest it has gotten is 90 degrees July 2000

It's still pretty darn cold, because it still has little sunlight, and is far enough north it never gets warm.
