"Gik-gik-gik-gik" is the call of the Northern Cricket Frog (Acris crepitans).
Specifically, the voice of the Northern Cricket Frog is a series of clicks that start out and end up being repeated quite slowly. In between the beginning and the end of the call, the clicks speed up into groupings of twos and threes. The sound is similar to that of the tapping of two small stones against each other.
"Giik" is the call of the Southern Cricket Frog (Acris gryllus).
Specifically, the voice of the Southern Cricket Frog is a metallic click. It is made at an even pace and in groups of ten "giik" sounds. The call therefore starts with one "giik," then two "giik," and so on up to ten. It is somewhat similar to that of the Northern Cricket Frog (A. crepitans), but more drawn out and not quite as fast at the end.
